Notice: In-court Sessions Remain Suspended And Virtual Court Sessions Are Launching to Mitigate Public Exposure To Covid-19
To help minimize foot traffic at the courthouse during the COVID-19 pandemic, Hackensack Municipal Court will begin holding virtual court sessions using Zoom video conferencing. If you do not wish to appear via Zoom, you may contact the court to see if you are eligible to submit and resolve your matter via plea by mail.
If you have a case and want to appear in the virtual court, please email court@hackensack.org or call 201-646-3971 to provide your information and be scheduled for a virtual session. We will schedule your matter in the virtual court and you will receive an email confirmation with the instructions on how to participate.

Defendants may continue to make payments for parking and traffic matters through the municipal court’s online payment website at NJMCdirect.com.
Payments will also continue to be accepted by mail.
The court payment window is currently closed until further notice as all of City Hall is currently closed to the public.

The Municipal Court of Hackensack is comprised of 11 full-time employees. Each staff member is responsible for processing criminal and traffic complaints issued within the City’s jurisdiction.
Tickets can be paid through the website offered by the judiciary which is www.njmcdirect.com and by mail or in person between 9am and 3:30pm at the violations window, which does not close for lunch.

Complaints are accepted for filing every day from 8:30 am to 11:30 am and 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm only.
Please Note: The Municipal Court of Hackensack does not handle any matters that are related to the superior court which is located at 10 Main Street or the Central Bergen Municipal court which is located at 71 Hudson Street – Court Code 290
Credit Card Payment: As of Thursday, February 1st, 2018 credit cards are an acceptable form of payment for court purposes.
